CBS Bows CSI: Vegas, Riverdale Wraps, and Netflix Goes Baking Impossible

The CSI franchise returns to the city that started it all tonight in a new limited series that sees a new crew of investigators join old favorites Gil Grissom (William Petersen), Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), and David Hodges (Wallace Langham).

Also today: Netflix explores the intersection of sports and true crime in Bad Sport, Baking Impossible’s contestants put their engineering skills to the test, and Riverdale ends its fifth season on The CW. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

CSI: Vegas: Limited series premiere. Franchise alums William Petersen, Jorja Fox, and Wallace Langham return to the city where it all began in a new limited series starring Paula Newsome as Maxine Roby, the leader of a new team of investigators facing an existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab. Bad Sport: Complete first season. The team behind Don’t F**k With Cats tur their attention to the intersection of sports and true-crime in this six-episode documentary series. Baking Impossible: Series premiere. Top bakers and innovative engineers team up to build edible creations that must taste delicious and survive intense stress tests in Netflix’s newest reality competition. Tough as Nails: Season premiere. Host Phil Keoghan welcomes a new crew to Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, where they'll put their strength, endurance, and mental fortitude to the test. In tonight's premiere, Season 1 winner Kelly “Murphy” Murphy returns to lead the group through their first challenge: a race to receive cargo dropped from a C-130 plane. 9:00 PM ET on CBS

Fauci: Original documentary. Anthony Fauci has become a household name over the last eighteen months, but less is known about the journey that led him to this point. Survivor: As Primetimer's resident Survivor scholar noted in his recap of last week's episode, the show's next-episode teases have taken a turn for the elliptical and Mad Men-esquely vague this season, but: Liana frets she made a million-dollar mistake, J.D. continues to act extra as hell, and Sydney is scared.  8:00 PM ET on CBS
